I went to a spot that the d c phase was 95 and was on coin mode , it was not working good. So I put on jewelry and beach and it worked ok. What adjustments in that program makes it work ib that bad soil???

I traded my DFX a while back but still use an XLT and in my opinion the DFX and XLT both suffer from target masking problems in the basic Coin program due to the preset discrimination pattern (Especially with the 950 coil). The Jewelry @Beach program opens up the discrimination pattern and accepts more targets and reduces the masking effects in my opinion .
I mostly use the coins program with the 5.3 coil when cherrypickin quarters, dimes or an occasional silver ring or other hightones at trashy sites. I do use an M6 also and the 6"x10" Eclipse coil works great on this detector and should perform better than the 950 coil at places with highly mineralized soils on the DFX also. Just a few thoughts.
