Default Question About My Whites Dfx Detector

Whenever I detect I put my detector on an already programmed setting called beach coin/jewlery mode and usually do good with it. Is there another mode I can put it in that will make me find more finds? Is the beach coin/jewlery mode pretty much the same as all metal mode? I feel like I might be missing some stuff. Anyways I always dig everything up. Let me know. Thanks.:merrychristmas:

Each if the programmed modes is good for the types of finds they say. It is a good idea to learn these modes first and then you can push it deeper like don was explaining. HH

If you arent hunting on the beach i wouldnt use the beach program normally. It has a fixed ground balance around 0 for salt as well as normal ground balance which is based on minerals in your soil. Like they said your best adjustments at this point is the Preamp and AC.

Hey SmartFox, Just what they said above. Don't know how long you've had your DFX but I can tell you they WILL go DEEP. They Take a little time to learn and the Pre-Set Programs are good to work with till ya get the hang of it and are ready to try other programs. There is alot you'll be able to do with it. There is a Site " DFX ONLY" where you can get alot of Help from and they are pretty good there. Also if ya don't alredy have it, Get the book ( Diggin Deeper with the DFX by Eric Foster ) Great Book and will Help Ya alot.

Good Luck & HH !!

Smartfox,
Turn on your DFX . load your beach, jewlery program. after it loads push the menu button. go to pro options, push enter use down arrow button in till you see preamp gain move it up to 3 first use it does it seem unstable when the coil is moving? if not move the preamp gain to 4 use it, If it is unstable on 4 when the coil is moving, hit menu go to basic adjustments, use down arrow in till you see AC Sensitivity turn it down by 5 each time in till it is stable when the coil is moving.

to open the disc hit menu button, use down arrow to pick pro options push enter, use down arrow button in till you see discrimination hit enter, you will see Disc. edit hit enter (we are just moving the VDI #'s to 0) now by using your the arrow keys move the in till the VDI # 's is at 0. now hit menu, hit the down arrow key one time you should be at Block edit and the VDI #'s should be at 0. now hit enter. use the enter button to pick accept now use the arrows to accept to - 40. pull the trigger and hunt.

Get Jeff Foster's book Digging Deeper with the DFX also become a member of DFXONLY.COM
