White detectors are a good buy. I have an XLT for the past 3 years. Has not let me down yet. There are also backed by a great company with excellent service personnel. Good Luck ..Doug

I have a DFX. I do like it but wow, am I having a hard time with it. It beeps, squeaks, squeals, chirps every few feet. The machine is very sensitive. I sometime want to . I do not mean to discourage you. Just be prepared for a learning experience.

Good luck

my friend says the XLT is as good depth and everything as the DFX. He sold a XLT and bought a DFX.... Now wishes he had his old one back..

I had an old 6000 DiPro for many years and now own an XLT. The XLT is a great unit and is a coin magnet. I have never had any problems with the detectors, they are solid built machines! I have not used a DFX but I am in no hurry to get rid of my XLT. The choice is yours but the learning curve may be a bit harder with the DFX. Just some food for thought. Enjoy, Bill

If you want to seriously hunt the beach or occassionally search for those small nuggets you will need the DFX. Otherwise the two machines are as good as the user. I feel the DFX gives me an advantage with 15 and 13 kHz to work with. However, you do have to deal more with EMI.

Default Dfx Info

The DFX is a graet machine but has a big learning curve. If you have one and need answers go to DFX Only Forum and they will help you out. Great bunch of people there.
