Default Tested out new 12" coil from Whites

Had a chance to try out the new super 12" coil from whites.. I went to Daytona Beach for a workout in the sand. Sure can cover a lot of sand in a short time. The coil weight is about the same as the stock 950. So that part was a no brainer. Used it on an MXT so I set the machine to salt. Set the pre-amp to marked pre-sets on the machine, that is 9 on the scale. The coil worked as they said it would. Found some deep items (junk) about 12to 14 inch down. The coil is a magnet for clad. I found quarters dimes nickels and pennies. I was hoping for some jewelery or pirates gold but not this time. The coil swings easy but you will have to remember it is 12" dia. I us a 6x10 DD most of the time and this coil looks like a basketball hoop compared to the 6x10. I also tried it in a park on the way home..... The park had alot of trash in the ground and a 12" coil will drive you mad...... But I did find some clad so it can be used in a park with lots of understanding and low volume....

Pinpointing in again a learned thing with this size coil. The inner ring of the coil is about 4 1/2 " so after a couple of doz. pull tabs I had it down. I don,t know if I will buy one for the park hunting I do but if you are a realic hunter in large fields and woods this maybe the trick for you. Aslo if you hunt the beaches alot it is very good....

Boobie, If someone is looking to cover more area in on sweep and looking for a little more depth it would be the way to go. If you are hunting in a park that you have cleaned up most of the trash it may help to get down to the deep stuff. For the beach definitely.
