Hi Elizabeth. I'm new to this also. I was recently down in Bradenton and plan to retire there. I think that is not too far from you??? I have been out swinging 3 days a week or so since I started and I'm just starting to get some older coins. Found my first 2 silver coins this weeks. It is exciting. Keep in touch...maybe we can get together in Florida. I'll be back in July. I would love to find another woman in my area to detect with. My hubby is not enamored with it yet.

WELCOME To TQ. You'll get plenty of help here. The sponsors may be able to help and you can always talk to a technitian at whites. The goods will come with Practice. I just moved to Central PA & would trade your sand for my Coal, Rocks & Iron ground. I'd be Happy to find a Pulltab right now. once you get your detector straight, just Practice & practice some more. LEARN what your detector is saying to you. " Remember that the Road to Success leads right through the Dump. " Ask any questions you have, There are plenty of folks here that are willing to help if they can. Good Luck & HH.

Try Coquina Beach at the south end of Anna Maria Island. Anywhere South of bridge Street is good. I was born and raised by the Cortez bridge.

Hi, Elizabeth and welcome to TQ! Nice to have you here with us!

I am going to copy your post over to the White's area of the forum to see if someone who has the same machine can confirm or deny what you are experiencing is either normal or abnormal.

You are in a great state for hunting and I think you will like our forum.

We have a lot of nice features, including a virtual "Around the World Treasure hunt" that starts March 10th, I think!

We have a "buddy map" in our "Member Announcements" area. That right above this area in the index. Look for the 1st thread inside there. Please consider adding your location there!

We are just closing our February Group Buy but you can join in the March one, if you like!

I think the hubby will change hi mind once he sees what you bring home.

Remember it takes patience and practice.

Think about trying out some playgrounds in your area for practice.

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
