I broke the eye off of the lower rod for my DFX where the coil bolts onto the shaft. A new one is about $10.00 plus shipping. My son had some Gorilla Glue and let me tell you it is holding. Even with the pivoting of the coil and hitting it on low brush and all the other stuff we hit with our coils, it is holding up perfect so far. I tried everything before but now I'm a believer that when they say it is the strongest gluein the world, they are right.

I have made it part of my detecting gear to carry a spare lower shaft. Nothing will mess your hunt up quicker than to have one break and not have a spare. Got this lesson drilled home about 5 minutes into a competition hunt years ago, luckily there was a dealer packing up at the time that got me back into the hunt quickly.
