Default Christmas Present

My wife kinda left a secret slip out in an email to me today... She got me a new metal detector for Christmas. (Yippee) I love that woman... She ordered me a "Whites Classic 5 ID". I was wondering if anyone has or uses one of these? I looked it up online, and it seems like a pretty descent mid- priced machine. Looks very easy to use, and can be used for everything. (Coins, relic, ect...) Any information would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks Gary

Hi Gary,

I agree with boobie that you have a great wife. The Classic 5 is similar to the other Classic ID's from Whites except there is a frequency change from 6.5 on the XLT, IDX Pro etc. to 8.1kHz and shares the frequency of the Prizm line.I believe it is exclusive to Kellyco but not sure. There is a field test by Monte who is a well respected Whites user on the Kellyco website. I have a modified IDX Pro and Classic ID and just love them for general hunting and trashy sites because they have a quick recovery speed in high target areas and except for the obvious frequency change i expect you' ll get similar results. When you get to use it i'll be glad to help with any questions if i can. HH Bill

My wife ordered it from KellyCo. I was on there earlier tonight and read that field test report you were talking about. Seems to do well for coins, and thats mainly what I find anyways. Your right my wife is great... Iam trying to get her into the hobby... Thanks for the info!! Gary

Start bringing home some Jewelry finds and she will think it's better than QVC. HH Bill

I can't wait to get to use it when I get back from Iraq.... The Bounty Hunter was fine, but this one should have alittle more depth to it. Finding anything good lately?
