I have a few really trashy sites that i am having difficulty with because of the larger coils I use , has anyone used the 5 inch and are you happy with it? I have a MXT and I like the 12.5 Excaliber a lot but would like to hear from a MXT user with the 5 inch, Curt

Hi Curt,
Never heard of an Excaliber coil but thinking you mean the Excelerator coil. I have the Excelerator 5" coil on a Minelab Advantage and all i can can say is it is a great coil for depth and target separation. I posted on Minelab detectors at this site about my experience with the 5" EXcelerator and have nothing but praise for it as i look for goodies in trashy environments. Hope this helps and correct in my assesment of the coil. HH Bill |

I did mean excelerator!! I have a whites 5.3 but I think I need something even smaller for a couple of real trashy parks I detect, one is 150 years old and I know of two people finding silver in it and was hoping that a smaller coil would give me an advantage, excelerator claimes 9 inches for the 5" coil I think this would be a great depth for a small coil.
