Default Dig hot rock?

I am using a MXT and a lot of times my VDI shows 1$ or 50 at 12 inches them it seems to change its mind and give me a hot rock message when I swing back and forth over it , should I dig these hot rocks? I have tried a couple of times but the place where I am detecting people are not happy about deep holes, I would appreciate any insight on this. Curt

I agree with boobie and Tennessee,

The so called hotrock will more likely have the vague pinpoint and many times i feel like it gives a more sonar type sound than a clean coin sound.
One suggestion, if your in an area with little or no hotrock beeps i would dig even if i thought it was a hotrock but in an area of continuous hotrock +95 beeps i would pass unless it had a small footprint.
One tid bit of info, a true Hotrock will null on pinpoint and a typical coldrock will beep on pinpoint. Good Luck, HH Bill

I also have noticed the hot rock scenario, still a lot to learn with the MXT, Ron

Default I dunno...

Don't know about those "hot rocks", but those darn burried volkswagens get to me... or the occassional shallow old sewer pipe! What a pain!

Good Hunting!!
