Hello, I'm trying to decide on a metal detector. I like the White's E series detectors. I'm leaning towards an MXT for its ease of use. I'll mainly looking for coins and maybe beach hunting a couple times a year. There isn't any where here to prospect for gold. Do you think the MXT is a good choice or one of the other E series. I'm not afraid of learning how to use a detector like tha DFX but don't want to if the MXT is just as good. Thanks, Jim
Hi Don, That is sort of a tough one. I use both of the detectors you mention. and I like both of them. The main differences aside from the price is the fact that the MXT is easiest to use and cancels the ground mineral better and faster than the DFX. On the other hand the DFX will definately work better on the beach since it is a multifrequency detector and it can probably be cranked up to go a bit deeper than the MXT, but there are those who would dispute that. Bottom line, I guess , is that if you are going to be on the beach some and never prospect, then the DFX will probably be the best bet. Only other consideration is the ground mineral. If it is extreme, you could lean toward the MXT regardless of whether you will prospect or not. Check with your local distributor by calling 1 800 547 6911as they know about your local ground conditions. good luck jimmy sierra
