Default NO XLT problems!

Why, simple answer. The XLT and 5900 are 2 different machines. You can't expect two different metal detectors to give you the same readings do you? No machine will.

Secondly, I have a Eagle Spectrum. I'm looking at +25 on the black box. Mine says on the high end of left side of the scale NICKEL/RING, directly across on the right side of the scale it reads right in the middle of $1 and $2 1/2 gold. I think your XLT has the same info pre-printed on your black box. So cross reference on your XLT ans you will find your answer.............Rich
