Default Cell phones

I have a whites MXT and was having problems with erratic behavior, I thought that my machine was on the way out so I called a tech at whites and we went over many things that can do this , finally he asked if I detect with a cell phone or aroud any towers and I always carry a cell I thought if I am not on the phone it will not bother the signal, so I turned the phone off and tried again and it is a different machine, I picked up several coins where i had already passed through where the signal was scrambled before, hope this helps !!!! In short TURN OFF THE PHONE

This is very interesting. I have a cell and carry it with me just in case. Since I got my new Whites Prizm V I have found very little. Do you know if this is true for all White's models. I am wondering if my cell is the cause of me not finding anything. Will have to turn it off and see. Thanks for the tip. JoAnne

PS I was wondering if my Vibra Probe might be intereferring. I carry it around my waist on the same side as my detector. Has anyone else noticed a problem with theirs? I was wondering if the probe was sending a signal to the detector and therefore I was not getting an acurate reading. Just curious.

Thats good to know. I carry a nextel phone and a verizon phone and I noticed in the car the nextel interferes with the radio. I'm going to try without phones next time or at least turn them off. Thanks for the info.

Default Phones

The Tech at whites said that even if you are not using the phone just the nearest tower tracking you will cut into the signal, the good news is i will have to go to all the sites that I have and do it again!!!
