Default Mods done Classic II

I just finished the mods on the detector. Free air on a single penny I seemed to have gained 1.5 to 2 inches. For such a simple procedure I am quite please.

The mod gives you Ground balance and threshold controls readily accessible. Basically you remove 2 board mounted potentiometers, hook up wires and mount knobed pots on the unit box. It lets you have more control on the units so you can get a finer tune.

Hi Jeff,

Definately two things the classics could use, a threshold adjustment and GB knob . I didn't have the knowhow to do mine and sent to Mr Bill. Did you add the receiver boost circuit or did the GB and threshold adjustment in all metal achieve the added depth on the disc side also. Just curious. Whites Classics are excellent detectors, especially when modified. Thanks for your input. HH Bill

Just the two adjustment added. I think since you can get such a tight setting, it gives you the added depth. I only have $100 wrapped up in the detector. If I stick with it I will get better unit. I can't justify wrapping any more money up in the unit.

Mods on an Eagle.. I have no idea. the mods I did were sent to me. they were very simple, no real changes to the circuitry, just some "rearangement" for access.

Can these mods be done with the whole Classic line, like the 5ID?

The mods are for the models that actually say "classic". I think they are only for the Classic II, perhaps the I also. I really don't know, like I said the mods were sent to me, I didn't come up with them.
