Default XLT coils

i have another gift certificate for white's and im stuck at what to get. i already have a bunch of stuff and the only thing that i think would be useful to me is the 5.3 bullseye coil. i have the stock coil and the 4x6 shooter DD for the xlt and im worried that it may be a waste if the 5.3 and 4x6 are virtually doing the same job. anyone have any imput? thanks

I have a 5 inch Hot Head coil that I use with my XLT sometimes...Works good for trashy places...I don't use it all the time though...They might have something else you want ...like a detector bag or a set of nice head phones..might want to check it out to see what else they have...Buster...

Hey Grasshopper,

Have you given any thought to the Blue Max 15" Coil? That would sure round out your arsenel for sure. Instead of using the Lesche Tool, you would need a shovel with that one!

The 5.3 coil is a great all purpose coil for the XLT or any 6.59kHz detector and will provide much better depth and target id than the 4"x6" Shooter but the Shooter will provide a little better target separation on shallow targets at trashy sites.
On the M6, MXT or DFX the Eclipse 4"x6" Shooter works great but on the lower frequency detectors the Blue Max 4"x6" Shooter provides lackluster performance.Never used anything larger than the 950 coil on the XLT so i can't comment on any. HH Bill

Thumbs up Bullseye

I have had the Bullseye 5.3 for years now and am very happy with it in trashy sites. But I dont know what improvements have been made now days. I've been out of it for 5yrs, now. Good Luck
