Hi Tony,

I have an Eagle Spectrum which is the precurser to the bigbox "C"cell battery version Spectrum XLT and that progressed into the Slimline or small box XLT-E version using the 8"AA" which is the lighter of the 3.

There is very little difference in performance but there are some programming changes which only affect processor speed, and the newer detectors have increased saved programs slots and of course weight is less with newer XLT's.

I swear the Eagle Spectrum is a bit more stable on deeper targets than the newer XLT but it's just a subtle difference. All are great machines. HH Bill

The only difference between the Spectrum XLT and the Spectrum XLT E series, is the stickers. They are exactly the same internally.

There are differences between the Eagle Spectrum and the Spectrum XLT. Those that have already been discussed. Though, the XLT never used a C cell battery pack.
