Wait a minute Rick! All those tiny Mexican 10 centavos are not worthless! A lot of Mexican coins made in the 1800,s were marked 902.7 for silver content, even in the 1900,s there were silver Pesos, The picture I have posted is 2, 10 centavos & 2 5 centavos, Dated 1889 & 1887 and they are in good shape and all are marked 902.7, the wheat penny is for size comparison.

Giloror...agree with ya 100%.except i should have noted that these small ten centavo coins are pretty new, from the 1970's, not like the older coins you mentioned...i think there is even a dos pesos small coin made with gold from the 1940's... Thanks for the pics.

In the years 1919,1920,1944-1948 small quantities of DOS PESOS were minted, however during 1951-1972 a total of 4,590,493 pieces were restruck, most likely dated 1945.
These coins weigh 1.6666 g, 900 fine gold, .0482 oz AGW They are very popular with clubs that want to have the image of giving away gold coins in their member drawings while keeping the cost to a minimum. If you buy one from a coin dealer or other source, you are almost certainly getting one of the restrikes if it is a 1945 date (original mintage was 140,000 - rounded off to nearest 10,000 pieces). So with gold at $960.00/oz AGW it would be worth {.0482*960=46.72} $46.72 as bulion... A like situation exists for the DOS Y MIDIO (2 1/2) PESOS coin.
