Default Colbalt Blue bottle?-Picture added...

I dug up a bottle yesterday in my backyard and is Colbalt blue in color, but it's square and has" John Wyeth & Bro" on the side. It's 8'' tall and has a number 4 on the bottom and "PAT. MAY 16th 1899" on the bottom. Both of my camera's are dead right now so no pic's to post at this time.

Anybody have any idea's? Also The top is shaped like this / \ with a neck ring right below it. If someone else has one maybe they could post a pic and I could tell you if it is the same.

TIA.
Silver.

Beauty of a blue bottle, I believe the cobalt blue is one of the most desired colors but I think the red ones are the rarest ( I read somewhere a long time ago that the red ones where made with gold) dont know if thats true or not Pappy would probably know. G-girl

Ruby or cranberry glass was made with the addition of gold, found in many historical homes as a fan light above the entry door as a sign of wealth.
Small bit of info : Cranberry glass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Default Cobalt Blue John Wyeth Bottle

JOHN WYETH & BROTHERS was a Pharmaceutical Company that started in the mid 1800's in Philadelphia Pa. They provided three major medicines mfg. by their Company and they were: Indian Cannabis, Satrontium Salicylate and Hyoscine Hydrobromide. Your bottle is def. from that period and may I say it is a Wonderful looking find.
Your bottle on todays market would fetch approx. $20.00-$30.00 considering it's condition.

Cobalt is ALWAYS a GREAT find. The ruby reds were made from a mixture of slag gold and compressed sand and are also a GREAT find.

Nice find, the link below is a layout I came across of the factory in 1890's. It's kind of cool and provides a little bit of the companies history.
