Default hit the strip again...

Hello All

Went back to my favorite strip (which I thought I scoured pretty good over the years) and pulled some more keepers.

1903 Indian
1911 V-Nicket
1920 D Wheat
no date Buffalo
12 1/2 cent trade token for the Smoke House cigar.

The SE is acting great on Nickels. I'm picking up a 5" SunRay coil and I'm planning on hitting this area again, since it's really trashy.

The best part, is when a guy came up and told me that he metal detects and this has got to be the worst place anyone would detect.. since it's been hunted so much over the years. Hmmm.

Pretty nice finds for a hunted out place. I think that reputation of the place will work to your advantage.

That's what I'm hopin. I'm also hoping that the 5" will come in re-al handy here as well. I'm planning to hit it again this weekend. I'd love to snatch a Barber out of there next time.

Absolutely. I get blown away that I think I clean the place out.. and I'm finding stuff that I missed. I missed these coins yesterday for crying out loud.

I think the most important tip is to go slow. I find myself speeding up and having to constantly tell myself to slow down. All of these finds were in my 'slow' sweeps.

Great finds!! I agree to many guys rush through an area and don't take the time to cover slow and thorough. This is a hobby that takes time. You can't rush it. I agree that when somebody says that to me it motivates me more to slow down and it always pays off. I had a local fella that told me there was no way I would find anything at a local school since he covered several times over the years. He walked along and got extremely upset when I was digging good coins that were pre-clad.
