Last fridays finds

Hi all,
Still getting into the operation of my MD. Was out last friday after work at an old farmhouse near here and found the attached items. They look to me like some old tools (axe head, Chisel? and unknown in the first pic and hammers 2nd pic), also found remains of crosscut saw which isn't pictured. The house was built in 1865. In the same hole that I found some old nails I found a lot of glass, coal, potsherds and the small while ceramic cap thats about 3 inches in diameter and reads White Crown Cap Patented 11 22 10 (third pic). Is this an old milk bottle cap? As for the tools, they are heavily oxidized and covered. Should I attempt to clean them? If so, how should I do it?

I still havent found any old coins. Oldest to date is a 1965 nickel. Figure there's gotta be some older stuff down there!

Looks like you have found a good place to hunt. The white lid looks like a top for a mason jar.
If you found several things in one hole or very near, you could have found a dump hole, which would be a very good spot to dig deep and wide.
