Default Trash or Treasure?

Yesterday I went over to Shoshone Falls Park, (Idaho) It is located on the Snake River. Remember when Evel Knivel tried to jump it,the ramp is a few miles west of the park.Anyway, in the late 1800`s Chinese mining camps sprung all along the snake river, they carved out caves in the canyon walls, many old tools have been found around these sites.I found what may have been a part of a machine they used.About 6 inches down in the ground. Any Ideas?
Steve

I thought it looked like a saw blade as well. It looks like it would attach to a wooden handle with those two holes. Maybe the blade would be sandwiched between two pieces of the handle?

It can be a rough place to search, very rocky, I always go with a friend so if one is digging the other watches for rattle snakes . The Chinese miners lived in the caves, most of the caves we have found are about 10X10 ft.
