Default 1945 Nickle

Since I got my ACE 250 I've been dying to detect a park where we used to have many picnics and other events when I was a child. I figured that I can pinpoint pretty well now and my digging is not too bad so this morning I set out early to hit this park. It has a tot lot and picnic area. Found about 20 pennies/dimes in the tot lot and then hit the mud from the inch of rain we had yesterday. This park is sooooo trashy. Seems like the kids spend lots of time drinking in this park. I'm not too sure how to deal with the trash yet so I tried to dig only solid coin hits. Coin total for the day was 38! My best yet. My only old coin was the 1945 nickle. Is that silver??? Not even a wheatie otherwise. I know there have to be older coins here. Can anyone tell me how to shoot for them while working around the trash. I'm not ready to buy a smaller coil yet.

Default best trash eliminator

is to go ahead and dig it all... you may be missing a nice gold ring by blocking out pull tabs. you never know till you dig it. i have mad some nice finds but i have dug alot of trash to get em. besides if you dig the heavy trash now it will improve the odds of finding treasure next time you go through it... yesterday i spent 2 hours hunting.... 3 crushed beer cans, a pocket full of tabs, 9 beer bottle caps, and 32 cents in clad. sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you... happy hunting

Default Hello cntrydncr1

Don't just dig coin signals, try alot of trash too because you might be passing by gold or other objects that might show up as trash...good luck...

I always try to spend part of the day digging everything then part of the day cherry picking, every piece of trash I throw away is one less piece of trash to find on the next hunt !!!
