Default An afternoon hunt

I worked a half day today at work. I went back to the park I've been detecting lately. I started up near the road where I found the Walking Liberty half. I only dug 1 wheatie, some clad and alot of junk. So, I decided I would go down and detect around the pavilions that I've been doing so good at. Listening to the trash is a big pain on an Explorer because I run mine so I am listening to everything except most iron (IM -13). I ended up with a 1907 barber dime and 2 IHs (1884, 1887). Both the IHs are in bad shape. The barber dime was on-edge and only gave a good signal one way but sounded good. Strangely, my detecting buddies and I never dug a barber in this park until this year. This one makes the 3rd in 3 weeks... I've dug seated, mercs and rosies there but never a barber until 2007. Any comments are welcome!

-Bill

Thanks Boobie! I hope I keep it up too... But, I am not complaining because these coins have come from a park most people in the area have deemed 'hunted out'!

Thanks! I totally agree on the never "HUNTED OUT". It is amazing what you can find by dig signals that aren't 'textbook perfect' for your detector. Knowing your detector can go a long ways in producing in "hunted out" sites. Thanks for the post!

Default Ya gotta dig all the pretty good signals, and....

...sometimes the questionable ones. You just never know.
Good looking Barber.

Thanks for the replies Metal Head, dooby, & Coin Hunter. I'm working the heavy trash areas right now at the park. I may have to start moving some of the trash to see it I can get anything hiding underneath.
