Default A couple of hot lunches

I went out yesterday and today during my lunch hour. That little park seems to have had a bunch of people. There are trashy areas, but it always seems like I at least get a dime or a penny. Quarters are dwindling, but it did give me some silver last week.

The point of this post is that yesterday it was about 95 and today it was 98 and I was about to have a heat stroke out there. I'm so happy there are two huge trees with decent shade so I can go out on the really hot days like that. I must have lost 10 water pounds out there today. I found 3 dimes 2 1/2 pennies (one was cut in half) and some trash. I know Boobie would be excited to hear that I found two of the older flip tops. I have really been forcing myself to dig those pop tops. I'm waiting to find something really nice.

What year did they start making the newer type pull tabs? Was it around 1980? I remember it was around that time, but just not sure.

I have found about 5 of those old ones in this park. I did find a 1965 quarter the other day, but nothing earlier than that. I will keep trying to sniff them out, though. So much fun!

Pris, you are going to find the entire history of pull-tabs before you are done!
I promise!

I sure will take water with me. I tell you what, though. I have found out that the real treasure doesn't like shade. It must not grow well without full sun. I went out yesterday and found 3 quarters and 3 dimes in the sun and only 3 pennies in the shade of the tree. I need to bring sunscreen, too.

I'll be going to go tent camping at Big Bear Lake this weekend, up in the mountains, and will be taking my MD. It will be my first trip with my MD, so I'm excited to see if I can find anything good. Except for the trees, lake, good friends and good food part, that is.
