Default dave in iowa

finds for the day and a civil war story developing in my finds 1925 wheatie ,17d,18,and the belt buckle i think , as for the story , i found a civil war officers coat button and now i have found a pin , that belonged to the same man , james hill from cascade iowa , he built the house i found these things at , and came back to cascade after the war and lived and died there , he had a lot to do with the early development of our town, here;s the button and a picture of the pin, couldnt get a good picture so i copied it on a coping machine and took a pic of that , the local historian said it was a wonderful find and i think i will donate the articles to the historical society in our town , thanks for looking

Default Good digs!

Interesting finds, as always, Dave.

It is not often that you can find the story behind items found.

Terrific idea to donate to historical society.
