Default Musta been a penny toss

I went to a old school field and playground this morning.
There must have been a penny toss there at one time.

I got tired of picking them up, and the ground was dry and hard so I came home to wash the car & have a cocktail.

After I counted them all up I had

7 quarters
8 dimes
3 nickels
69 mem pennies.

All the pennies were around 1 1/2 deep.

I was at a tot lot last night and I had the very same thought. It was as though people were tossing pennies around. I found 26 pennies, 2 nickels, and 2 dimes. Most were under 1" deep. I think kids throw the pennies away as they don't want to carry them around.

I have permission few a couple of new spots but the yards are nice and I don't want to kill the grass. The heat is here and the ground is dry. Jeff

Yeah when I was growing up at about 13 - 15 I had a friend that would just toss his pennies on the ground. I have hear of buying something stupid or whatever and people saying you are throwing your money away, but to literately throw them away? Never understood it. Oh and I always got the pennies from my friend for then on. Oh and I also always pick up pennies in parking lots or wherever I find them. If I bend over 100 times to pick up a penny then I have earned myself a dollar.

Yea we have an old park here (1840 - 50) I've been hitting pretty hard and one area is just littered with pennies. When I get bored I go there just to pick some pennies. Nearly everything in this park is 4 to 6 inches but these pennies are no more than 1 inch or so.
