Default Ballroom lot - The time grows short

It is finally underway. The paving project has begun on my silver mine for this year. I have now personally pulled $5.10 face in silver from this lot since the end of March. My hunting partner McBrat has dug another $0.60 face in silver.

At the time I obtained permission from the owner on 3/29, he made it sound like it would be only a week before they started paving it over. He told me to hurry! So we have been hurrying for a couple of months.

They have been working the drainage with new fire plugs and storm drainage for a few weeks, but last week they started grading the soil/rock/gravel/old asphalt. Surveyors have begun staking it out.

I thought some of you may be interested in some photos of this place.

In and around the big pile of chipped tree is where 4 out of the 6 walking half dollars and the majority of the silver was found.

I thought it was over on Wednesday when I saw the "keep out" security signs, but I talked to security later in the week, and they said they were up only during a concert that was going on.

I did manage to get over there twice this week and found a couple more merc. dimes.

Happy hunting all!

stay at least five feet in front of the asphalt guys as they pour the tar. keep clear of the steam roller... watch yer step and you may just be able to work that ground till the last inch is paved over. or bring a couple coolers of beer to the site and give the crew a liquid lunch long enough to let you make a few more sweeps.... but honestly sorry to see ya losa that site. i wish you even better luck on the next ones man. HAPPY HUNTING

That's too bad. I know you've had a blast there and I've sure enjoyed seeing all of your finds. Maybe you'll be around when they tear it up again in 30 years and you'll get another chance to search. You can only hope
