Wow, Anne, that's some really neat stuff; pretty old, too, I'll bet.

I think Iowa was still in the Ice Age when those things were lost

I think they beat the oldest item I have found by about 1300 years!

That's really getting to the heart of why we're all into this hobby. You've got some real history in those finds. The every day life of people from those times can really take shape. Makes you really wonder who owned them and why they were lost to the earth. Very nice finds, Anne...very nice.

Default Antiques Road Show Level Finds

Anne,
You are in a fantastic country. The photos of the items are suitable for the Road Show program I have no doubt. Thank you for sharing them with us all. The rich history you uncovered are certainly representative of the past history of the famous lands you live in, too bad they can't speak and tell of the owners who lost them so long ago. You however have found and kept a time capsule of the alive. Wonderful tribute.

You have some really old neat finds in your collection. I am with Arkwater on that one. The whistle is something to be proud of.
