Default I've had enough rain!!!!

We had a nice 4th yesterday!!! Got up at 4:45, coffee was preset, so had coffee and more coffeeHeaded to Millwood lake, taking son, so he could take a boat ride with his cousins...we ventured to a campsite where relatives were situated for a few days or maybe a week...wondering if they stayed, cause this rain has not stopped, It is a hit and miss and when it pours it pours!!!We had a great time, except no detecting in this park...so I got the pole out and caught 2 fish, one a catfish and the other was to little for me to tell what it was...was the smallest catfish I ever caught also!!! But I was like...hey hey hey, we got supper!!!
When we picked up son from his boat ride out to fetch a bass or two, they told us...his cousin took a swim in the lake, as the boat passed over a stump...oops!!! out he went!!! Cell phone and all went in!!!! Bet he was glad he had that life jacket on!!!! Took the boys back with us to the campsite and they finished up with more fishing and swimming and we had a great time!!! Was wild to watch the black clouds passing by and seeing the rain on the other end of the lake...just thought we were going to be in the right spot and miss the rain and about 3:30...boom....it hit and thought we were going to get washed away!!! Came home soaked but had a great time anyway!!!

This morning I thought... I wasn't going to let this rain get in my way today!!! Just a light sprinkle and with my detector and it's rain jacket, I headed out!!!...First I have to say the other day we took out walking in the rain looking at a new spot where they are constructing a new loop, moving houses and we ventured out in this area...I found all kinds of colored glass and pottery, not sure if this was a dumping ground or if an old house use to sit in one area I was checking out...Brought back a few old bottles, may be 50's or 60's will post later to get age, and as I was walking from the dozer's pushing everything, I ran across this most neat ugliest find I have ever found...which I will post first...This morning I hit my areas that produce newer finds...jewelry and clad...found one new earring...no ring for which I was hoping for!!! But that will happen another day...My battery was running low, but I just couldn't resist going to the area that I thought might be an old homesite, it was a buckel day found 3 and another couple of whatchamacallit's, one pic I have no idea what the long piece of metal was from and looks like two carriage wheels??? The silver thingy, looks like part of a bell from a phone??? At least that is the shape of it, thought it was neat with the eagle on it, a neat item to bring home.
This is all I found...but got my fix!!!! Made it home in time...it really started pouring after I got home....They are suppose to release water from lake texoma, we are worried that it is going to flood our area here. We left this afternoon and road to a bridge and I took a pic of the water level...the last flood we had the water was at the top of this bridge...Wondering how it is going to be tomorrow??? Hope we can go back and take another pic, just to see how much it has risen...Well not alot but I had fun!!!
Hope to hit this area again, because soon it will be covered in pavement and noone will be detecting this area for along time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Life changes everyday...That is progress!!!!

HH to all that can get out and not having to fight this rain!!!!

Pat

Default more pics

Can't detect, much so taking pics!!!

This is the bridge pic, the first pic...This is the red river and it is flowing!!!!

In the next pic... me and my son built this bridge and it is time for some paint!!!
Never any water under it... but as the saying goes... It's just water under the bridge!!!

I also took a pic of the creek behind our place and this creek doesn't hold much water anymore because of progress, which I am not to happy about, stays dry most of the time but it is flowing now!!!

If you can't do much detecting, camera helps!!!! lol!!!!

HH

Great finds. We are getting rain too but nothing like you. Just enough now to keep the ground soft for digging!

Default rain, rain, rain

Also getting the rain. Woke up early go get a head start but the thunder was already roaring. Nice finds and pictures. Think I'll pull the engine in the firebird today.
