Last Land Hunt before Beach Vaca...1st Gold!!!
Went for the 3rd time to a park where there are regular events each summer. Each time I've come away with over $2.75 in clad and a few interesting trinkets. I vowed to myself not to dig but just to try to pop coins out that were near the surface. Well I didn't stick to it totally but I didn't dig much on any of the hunts.
Today's hunt was looking to be disappointing. Not much in the way of trinkets laying around and it was god awful hot and humid. I was getting wiped out but fast. Found another piece of wadded up foil, checked around again and got another signal for something near the surface. Rubbed the old Vibraprobe over the area again and got a hit....to my surprise, out popped a ring!!  On first glance it looked like silver with marquisite (sp?).When I got home I cleaned it up and WOW is it a beautiful ring. Turns out it is my first 14K white gold. It is marked 14K and CZ so I know it has cubic zirconium stones. Also found the catholic medal pictured. Now I'm really ready for 2 weeks of beach hunts on Anna Marie Island. Wish me more luck!
