JeffWv, I know that a lot of people like to see their old coins nice and shiny like new but this can damage the Numismatic Value of the coins. In this particular case, you probably did no damage! But I have seen and heard of people finding rare coins and not knowing its value shined it up in a Coin Tumber or even worst took a wire brush to it and severly damaged its value. A $1000.00 coin can plummet to $200.00 for example. This can also happen while digging the coin up! A nick or severe gouge to like a 1916D Mercury Dime will severely damaged its monetary value also! Just a warning...............I hate to see people crying all the way to the bank.........................................HH... ..............Joe
