Default My First Real Archeology Dig And Finds.

I dont have any pics of the finds because I wasnt allowed to keep any. :'( But it was cool. We dug at the Bevier-Elting House 1698-1735. But the finds where cool. We started out finding pottery and bones even a few teeth. But as the pit got down to the 2 foot mark we started finding Native american tools and projectile point peices. Then we found a nice peice of prehistoric Native American Pottery. The first peice I have ever seen unearthed. And me being into indian artifact hunting was loving it. Had a great time. Tons of finds made pipe bowls and stems and such. Here are some pics.

Awesome opportunity! We have some very old places in this area I wish they would consider doing that. I would love the chance to be a part of something like that. Glad you had a great time and learned alot.

That is just outstanding! I am thinking about doing something similiar also. The Loudon Archealogical Foundation is sponsoring several of those camps in my area and I believe I am going. Link is enclosed for your viewing pleasure. Look under special events for those of you close by or in Viriginia.
Wish you could have got pictures of your finds. Would love to have seen them. Way to go!
