Default Hour 1/2 hunt

Not getting to do as much digging as I would like to, but have gotten out a few times in the past weeks, not much to speak of but mostly trash, lots of clad adding up and a few odds and ends with some cheap costume jewelry found.
Didn't expect to get out today, but shoved that detector in the car on the way taking my daughter to practice this morning and thought I would hit an area that has been good to produce!!! It is finally drying out a bit around here!!!! I am so very happy!!!! Love getting out even if it is only clad I am digging!!!!

Did finally dig an earring that I thought was just another piece of junk jewelry, until I got it home and took a look at it with my loop...had to use all 3 together to actually see the markings on the post....14K earring!!! I believe to be my first gold earring!!! I was tickled!!!! Doesn't look like much so I dressed the pic up with some of the costume glass that has come loose from some of the junk jewelry I have found in the past....This is another rock I found in a different location....just gets my curiosity????
Do they make man made rock, that looks like this, doesn't pick up with my detector...just spotted it walking along....This has a hint of red in it....I thought it was pretty and interesting to bring home!!!!
I am still hanging around and reading posts and wanted to say hello and finally had something to post!!!

HH
Pat

Default Gold, Good for you

The rock does have visible sulphides. It certainly isn't man-made. It could be some type of pyrite with traces of iron, nickel, silver or gold in it.Is there a mine nearby?HH

Nice gold Pat. Are you anywhere near Hamburg?

Default your rock

If you didn't get a signal then it is probably pyrite, the red is oxidation from the elements. All that glitters is not gold.
