Well, I am new to the forum, but no stranger to detecting. I have been a frequent poster in other forums.
On Wednesday evening I was having dinner with the family on the patio. I looked at a big old spruce near the property line and started thinking there may be something there. Then as dusk fell, the phone rang. My wife answered the call and that gave me the chance I needed. I ran into the house and quickly chose my Garrett CXIII with the Treasure Talk feature, due to the fact that it had now gotten dark. After only a few minutes I got what I was looking for. The pleasant voice on the detector said "nine", so I was fairly confident that i had found a dime. Then when pinpointing the robotic womans voice said "Depth three plus inches". good. Fairly deep. After probing with my Vibraprobe I pulled out a coin, but it was too dark to see what it was. I ran into the house and found the 1946 Rosie.
On Thursday I grabbed my ACE 250 and returned to the spot and found the 1959D dime. It looks like it was lost yesterday!
I have hunted my property over and over for 7 years and always manage to find silver! My house is a fairly modern home on only a quarter acre, built in the 1960's but there was farm here before. (visit my site
index to see some of my other finds from my own property).
