Thanks everyone! I'm really enjoying the Ace 250. I have to say it rang true on every coin, and a lot of stuff was found in semi wet sand. When I first got it I was bummed that most people felt it was not a good beach machine, but those five hours out there really helped me to understand it more. I'm going to save up and get the bigger coil next month.
As for the rope thing, I don't think Mr. T would be hanging at the particular beach, but who knows?  Does anybody know how I can test to see what it really is made of?JP
