Default Great Hunt Today

I was greeted by my grandfather when i arrived at my camp on lake champlain, NY. he told me he had befriended the owner of an old farmhouse down the street built in the mid to late 1800's. i went there only to find that the owner didn't want me digging up his lawn. he said it would be nice if i could find a metal survey marker at the corner of his lawn. i said ok and after about 15 minutes of searching gave up. as i was digging he said, "since you did such a nice job digging and you didnt destroy the lawn, feel free to go and see what you can find on the rest of the property." i was mad excited so i went around the posts where people tied up horses. found a few pennies and dimes with no age. i went next to a large tree and i got a solid silver signal and dug. my cousin's keen eye spotted a small silver disc on the dropcloth with the words "one dime" on the back. my cuz said that shes never seen me so excited in her life. i turned it over and it was a 1906 barber dime, great shape. rechecked the hole and i got a standing liberty quarter with no date and a 188? indian head penny. i had to go home to eat dinner but the people said i could come back any time. by far my best finds this year. i also found a little horsey and 2 wheats,1924 and 1916. i will post pics on sun. night when i get home.

happy hunting all.
