Default Couple of finds this past week

I have been hunting an area for awhile and things keep turning up.

The sign is in a little ruff condition! but I thought it was still a neat find and boy did I have a time getting it out of the ground! lol

The wheat is a 1916 S I believe.

Thanks Greg, I checked the sign out on ebay and one in good shape was going for around 250.00. I just about flipped!

My dad is in the antique auto car club here and I gave the sign to him because I know he loves anything to do with old auto's. He was very happy when he saw it!

Thumbs up

Sign is actually in good condition for being in the ground! Looks 1940's vintage (without looking it up for confirmation.) Could be a few years earlier.

Thanks John, Sorry to hear about the bad weather, but we had some real good weather this past week and I got a few days of detecting in! I have been trying to drum up some new old home spots to detect, nothing so far so am having to stick to the camp searching and one old home spot I have been searching for months now! I keep thinking there is nothing left but some days I come back with something interesting!

Got up this morning and the temp was 22 and wind chill was 15 and boy that is cold for here!!!!!!! We aren't use to that kind of cold weather! I got out and detected for about an hour. Nothing of real interest-just wanted to check some woods near by-had fun anyway!

We don't get that snow and ice like some of you do, if we get it once a winter we are happy! That is if it melts in 2 to 3 days!

I hope the weather gets better for you! So you can get back to that hunting!

I don't know which is better summer and snakes or winter, cold and no snakes!

I got a pair of Rocky snake guard boots for Christmas! And I just love them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting them broke in for the summer! Best present I could have ever gotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pat - I did a little more checking on your sign. I'm now thinking late 1940's. Say, 1946 - 1949 era. I assume it is porcelain from the picture.
If it measures approximately 12 x 12 inches, it is probably a "pump plate". If bigger, probably a hanger or wall sign.
