Default Sunday Morning in the park

Well me and ace250 made it to the park this morning. I decided not to dig anything that was a penny or more than 4 in deep (no rain and it like digging in cement) . I was only there for a hour but came up with 1 quarter, a dime, and 5 penneys(they showed up as nickles). Not bad as I still tring to figure this machine out.

I'm still getting multi hits at 6+ inchs but alot of the time they disappear on repeated pass and other times it will show multi types of coins but again they disapear on the repeat passes. This is a park so I have to believe I get junk. All this is in coin mode.

Pinpointing with the ace is still not real good. I have purchased a Vibra Probe in hopes of helping this problem.

I have the sensitivity set at about mid point.

Any suggestions????

Likewise at times pinpointing with the standard coil isn't the greatest. Moist soil is a plus. The sniper coil is dead on no matter what. good Luck.

Congrats on the finds. You will get it just hand in there. I also have an ACE 250, its my only md. I love it. It just takes some time to figure out what settings you need for your area. If where you live is full of metallic substances in the ground then you sensitivity probably needs to be lower. I usually keep my sensitivity set between 3 and 5 bars showing. Once you figure that out and learn the signals that each coin gives off, you will be set. Just takes a little time and you will be good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep us informed on how it works for you.

After you find the target, reduce the sensitivity if you can and do the 90
degrees cris-cross method to futher refine the position of the target.
Works for me.

I have been finding with my Ace250 that sometimes a 2 hole tab will sound off with a double bell tone like a coin. When I pinpoint and get centered over the target I will get the typical pull tab sound.

As far as the depth indicator on the Ace250, I rarely use it, when I do look at it is when I am in the pinpoint mode.

Pinpointing with the stock Ace250 coil is easy once you get the hang of it. I had assumed in the beginning that the coils sweet spot was in the middle. It is not !!! First look at the stock coil on your Ace250, essentially it looks like a large coil around a smaller inside coil. The sweet spot on my coil is just above or at the top of the inner coil.

Here is how you pinpoint using a stock Ace250 coil.

While holding down the pinpoint button down, find the center of the target by running an "X" pattern over the top. Once you have what you think is the target center, and this is while still in the pinpoint mode, slowly start pulling the coil back (towards you) off the center of your target. When the signal begins to fade, stop, your target should be right at the top of your inner coil. This technique works very well, granted there are times it is off, but I then re-pinpoint the target and find I was an inch or two off......

You can try this in the back yard with a coin on top of the ground.

Hope this helps

The parks I work, most of the coinage / clad is within a couple of inches of the surface.

Once I got this technique down the only pin pointer I am now using is an old screw driver .............

Give it a try folks, it works well and ya dig a lot less holes !!!
