Default Trade Token

Here's a trade token for "John Muralt", Verona, North Dakota. Anyone know anything about this one? I haven't found anything about this specific token. I found it at my folks place last summer, in Jamestown, ND.

Default Token

Doug, there is a Muralt's Mercantile at 420 Center Street in Lisbon, ND.58054. You may want to contact Vicki Lamb at vlcatalog@drtel.net
and she may can help you identify the token. Phone number is 701-683-5369. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks, Pappy! This will be great help. I may even have to stop in there next time I'm back in the area!

I emailed the owner of the Muralt Mercantile in Lisbon regarding the token. Today, I got a response. The owner of the Lisbon store today is the great grand-daugher of the cousin who owned the John Muralt's in Verona. The Verona store was a meat market.

Today, the owner of the Lisbon store is about to close up shop. She is interested in the token as sort of a family heirloom and has offered to buy it. I'm thinking I should just send it to her. It's got to be worth more to a family member than to me, after all...

What do you all think?

Isn't it cool when you get the story behind the find?!

Doug, was Vicki the owner? I think it would be GREAT to return it...It's such a GREAT feeling to be able to locate owners of the property we find and I know it would mean a LOT to them to have it returned as a part of their history !

I agree returning it to the family would be such a nice gesture. And It may help out MDist in the area if the owner has land up that way..
