Default Good site??? Any ideas on the ring???

Well I started by finding some pieces of slate. So I figured I had found an old home site. Talked to an older woman from town and she said in the 50 years she lived there that she had not seen a house. Then I started seeing lots of broken glass in the sidewalk strip area that was dirt and not grass. Weird, the park was clean otherwise. Found some old steps...Found some pottery shards and insulator pieces. Found broken colored glass. Then I spoke with a neighbor who told me it was an old school site and that the school had burned in the '20's. Renewed my vigor.... Found a 1939 nickel and this kids ring. The ring has a baseball on the top and crossed bats with a mitt on the sides. Can anyone tell me about the ring?

Do you think I might have a good site?

I don't know anything about the ring, but it sure looks like you have a site that will keep you busy for a long time. Congrats!

Looks like an awesome site. Maybe ask the person who told you it was a school about the ring.

You have a good site, I would keep digging there, you may have alot of trash to go thru, but it should be worth it!

Chuck,
Don't think I can do any better on the pics. The entire top is a baseball. You can see the stitch lines. Both sides show crossed bats and what looks like a catcher's mitt. No markings inside, squeeze to size.

Indy,
It is not a trashy area thank goodness!!! The only trash is the glass type stuff I've found so far. I'm guessing it was hit over the years but was told that no detectors have been around recently. maybe I'll get lucky here.

Thanks for looking.

Nice finds and good luck with that site. Hope it pays off for you.
As far as the ring, I can not help, but if I was to venture a guess, I would say it belonged to someone who may have been on a championship team of some kind or maybe he/she played baseball/softball at the school that was destroyed on the site. May be worth diggin into the history of the area and possible schools that may have been there. Just trying to help.
