Default Vacation 9/1 & 9/2

I'm at the beach in DE near the MD border, metal detecting and eating crabs. I'll hunt several beaches this week (I did Bethany Beach on Sat. and OC on Sun.), Assateague being one as it's off limits to detecting from Memorial Day until after Labor Day, so I'll be out there bright and early Tuesday morning, last year I found six rings there and alot of clad (in the rain). I bought a new Excalibur the beginning of August and this weekend is the first that I got to use it and am learning.

So far I've only found clad, which will go to Clad for Cancer (sorry Rikki, you'll have to take a check, the quarters that are clean enough are going into the parking meters, 12 minutes for a quarter doesn't go far), a pair of prescription glasses (that I gave to the police), a toy car that I gave to a nearby kid, and a couple of "something elses" not to mention the trash that went into trash cans. The pictures show days 1 & 2 and I'm pretty sure that the piece next to the dime in the 2nd & 3rd pictures is another dime, it's much smaller in diameter and very thin, it seems to be just the well worn copper center but you can see the dime imprint if you look closely.

Clad count.
Sounds like a wonderful way to spend your vacation!! And I understand completely about the quarters...I've been putting my few in the local laundromat until my dryer gets fixed! There you only get 7 minutes in a dryer for 1 quarter....your parking meters sound a much better deal!!

Thank you again for contributing to the Clad for Cancer!!!

Good hunt and the crab sounds good too! I see what you mean with the corroded dime. It ain't worth 10 cents!

Len, I don't know about saving coins for you, but so far I'm certainly saving the jewelry for you.

Julie, without a doubt the beach is my favorite place to be, even before I began detecting and now just that much more.

Len, I've never detected Coin Beach after a storm, going to try to this year. All the other times I detected it haven't been too productive so I won't go back until a good storm comes through.
