Vacation 9/4
Went to Assateague this morning and detected about 4 hours, just a few pieces of clad. This is the first day that detecting is allowed on the beach (closed to detecting between Memorial Day and Labor Day). I really think someone is getting on the beach throughout the summer, talked to several other detectorists and they had meager finds also and I didn't meet anyone who found jewelry, I found 6 rings last year there and others were making good finds also.
Anyway, I'll move on.
After being frustrated there, I had lunch and stopped at Ocean City to detect. This was more like it, 63 more coins for cancer, one being another Wheatie (I don't think I ever found Wheaties at the beach before, and so far this week, I've found 2 of them), Something that looks like a copper fitting, and JEWELRY! One heavy 14k necklace, One 10k ring with some kind of stone and one sterling ring missing stones (I didn't bring any polish so I haven't cleaned it up yet).
I hope this is a sign of things to come!
