Default Exciting! First 500-8000 b.c. Arcaic item

Found my first B.C. item I believe! Over the weekend in an area of north central Wisconsin when I was inspecting with Mauthe I found what I believe to be my first copper arrow head or tool. It was found in the water with my detector. It looks like the middle one. Pictures to follow. It is hollow on a portion of the inside and very thin and fragile toward the hollow end. I am afraid to remove any sand from the inside becuase the end is so thin from the wear over the years. Any idea of values, beside the big grin I have.

Well thanks all I only found one that looks exactly like the middle one and I am 99.9% confident its a 5000 bc to 500 bc copper spear point from lovely Wisconsin. That picture is from a Wisconsin archelogical research site.

Default yes!

hand worked float copper point. this was probably made before the native Indians were tribes, they were a "tradition". the age is 2400 years to 4800+ years old.... as to value (priceless) for your collection/// to a collector $25.00 to $400.00 i have seen at collector shows.
a great find !!!
now go look for a spear point, then an awl, then a knife blade, to com pleat your collection.
Keep an eye out for the copper beads they use to make also.
they would pound the float copper flat, cut it into a triangle and roll it up to form a bead..
i found 31 of these in the same place one time. the beads can go for as much as $10.50 each, restring them on a fish line an you can get 3 times that....
if you could find a compleat breast plate made from these beads you could be very well to do. (the proper collector of course) remember: the old saying " keep your head down and your mouth shut"
respectfully, 1911d
