Talking Record Cross

Today I was somewhat limited in areas to search. Good ole Main Beach was the best choice. I am really surprised that I could find anything there after seeing all the metal detectors on the beach over Labor Day weekend and early in the week. I didn't spend much time myself because I had company.
But under about 2 inches of sand was the attached cross. It is 3 1/2 inches tall, making it a record find for me. I have never seen one that large before. The necklace part is a metal rope construction with some links at the end on one side and a clasp on the other. The clasp wasn't fastened when I found it.
I included another cross? I found on the same beach a few yards away. I have posted this attachment with another thread a couple of days ago.
Then I found the earring (see attached picture). Nothing spectacular and only one.
I noticed that at the nearby thrift store there are single earrings on sale. One of them matches one of the earrings I have in my collection. I had never considered selling single earrings. I now have a way to make use of all the single earrings I have - I will donate them to the thrift store.
I made another find on the beach today that is also interesting. It is a gaming token from Northcross Lanes at the Lake. I looked it up and it is near Lake Norman in Huntersville NC (just down the road from Nick's Crossroads). How it got on a Southern California beach might be an interesting story.
Today's clad wasn't too spectacular. I found 5 quarters, 19 dimes, 7 nickels and 15 pennies.
The ACE 250 is letting me get a lot closer to the water. But the coins I find down there are "sandblasted" out of usefullness. However, if I do find gold down there, it will be in fine shape.
I am still really jazzed about finding something from Tiffany & Co. And with the Roman Numerals!
Good hunting to all! Hope you have a profitable weekend.

Oh man that cross is fantastic! Lake Norman is near me, only about 40-50 miles. It is very big and a nice lake. I really enjoy stuff like that and how it gets where it does, Beale.
