Much like when Kennedy was shot, I'm sure most remember exactly what they were doing when they heard the news. I worked in the commodities industry and our trade desk was in direct contact with people at ground zero after the first plane hit. I'll never forget.

I have a friend who worked in the North Tower...he was running late for work that morning and was really hot about being caught in a traffic jam trying to get into Manhattan via the Lincoln Tunnel...he didn't realize until later that the traffic jam was due to the closing of the tunnel because of the attacks. Needless to say, he counts his blessings every day.

We must always remember those who lost their lives on that day - and also remember to respect those who worked so hard to save others - including all of our men and women in uniform - some who are STILL in harm's way as a direct result of that day.
