Thumbs up Torn up sidewalks come through again

Going home yesterday I see a bunch of sidewalks being torn up. Today I have the MD with me. One already had the forms laid and the workers smoothing it out. Time to get my arse in gear and head for the next one (corner house), Found a whopping three cents, all recent. Homeowner asked what I was doing and just gave me a strange look when I told her I was looking for older coins. Workers arrived so I headed to house #2. One cent, but at least a 1944 wheatie. On to house #3 - one recent cent and a clad quarter. House #4 was two recent cents. Not looking too good LOL. House #5, another corner house yields a 46 Rosie right off the bat. Find three more dimes, but all clad. Then a clad quarter, but next up was a 57 rosie Two more silver coins, thanks to the sidewalk replacement programs. Found another recent cent, and then it was on to house #6, just across the alley. Skunked! House #7 was in sight so I walked over and the 'ole Ace reads $1, 4'' down. A thought of a nice silver dollar went through my head but alas, it was not to be. Not too disappointing as it turned out to be a Green River Whisky token (circa late 1930's). I never made it to house #8 & 9. I'll try tomorrow if the city workers haven't made it that far.

Didn't Mr. PortraitArtist also find one of those Green River tokens? Am I losing my mind?
Nope! I found his post. His token is from 1910

Some of my better non-coin/jewelry finds

Very nice finds!!!

Arrow Green with envy

I like the silver (I have a 1946 dime for my birthyear, not from MDing). But I love the Green River token. It is quite a work of art. First one I have ever seen. Now I am going to have to do some research.
GREAT FIND!
