Default First silver found

Boy, oh boy! This is what I have been waiting for I went to the county park today to try an area that I haven't tried yet. There is a creek that runs through the park, so I thought I'd hit the banks. Only about 30 min. in to my hunt I get a great signal, says it's only about 1" down. I clear some dirt and... find a kids wallet, with the change part full of coins. Kept searching until I cut my finger on a piece of glass bottle some jerk threw into the park. I'm off to get gloves tomorrow! Anyway, when I got home and went through the wallet I found the following, 1963 Franklin 1/2, 3 wheaties '40, '44, & '46. The rest of the wallet contained clad which counted up to be $0.62. Also found $0.37, before the blood started gushing out of my finger and I needed to get home and lick my wounds.

Ok, your out of the non silver club. Take your booty and move on. I keep saying I am going to wear my gloves but keep forgetting. Great finds and thanks for posting.

Sorry about the finger and the boot from the non-silver club. That is one nice coin. WTG

Congratz Mauthe! You know I swear by my gloves! Iron Clad Landscaper gloves are the best but Menards work gloves fit the bill. Additionally Get gloves with velcro wrist closures to keep the mud and sand from getting in them. Also on damp muddy days run your hands over the grass real quick and viola clean gloves. :)

That was an awesome find. You need to make sure you get all the dirt out of the wound, you don't want staph. If you hunt tomorrow put the finger out of a latex glove over your finger then tape it and then wear your new "hunting" gloves over that (sorry I sound like a mom, just don't want you to lose a finger).
