Default Change Finds

I went to my parents for Sunday dinner after church today. Showed Dad the play money piece I found yesterday to see if he might had seen one before. After looking at it and having not seen one before, he wanted to show me what he had gotten in change. He left the room and came back and handed me a 1909 Lincoln Cent. He works as parts manager for a local equipment company and found it in some change someone brought in a paid with. Just a reminder to keep your eyes on your change. You never know what may show up.

Thats right - always check the pocket change...I still find a wheatie every once in a while....and about 2 years ago I actually got a 1939 quarter...as soon as I pulled it out of my pocket at home and dropped it on the dresser...I heard that unmistakable "silver" sound...but never dreamed it would be that old...

Post Wow!

What an incredible find. Better check the marks! I once had a 1909 plain. Luckily I was a kid at the time, I coulda had a heart attack.
Always check change for sure. Kids are always getting into change at home and some people carry lucky coins and accidentally spend them.
Happy hunting with the MD and in your pockets!

Good eye, I never spend my change until I check it!

I got a silver dollar and a silver half in change at a convenience store one time. The girl behind the counter didn't have a spot in her cash drawer for them and asked if I'd mind if she gave me them as part of my change.

Guess what my answer was

Default Oh Yeah!

I always check my change - if I'm not looking for the state quarters to put in my kids collections, I'm always looking for older coins to give to hubby. I was a convenience store a couple weeks ago and was given a silver dime with my change. Had my detector in my car, so figured it was an "almost find" hunt-wise LOL

Great story. and great find. A few weeks ago someone had stolen a bottle full of silver coins from someones garage. One day we were at the dollar store and we ended up with a few of the coins. Well we believe they were the same ones stolen. All over town old coins were coming up at different stores.
