Wink Holy Cow

Today I returned to San Clemente to try out the beach south of the pier. This is where I have seen the maximum population in the past. I was able to run all metal and full sensitivity for most of the hunt. For some of the area I had to come down one bar on sensitivity.

Doing away with discrimination didn't really help today. I found much rusted iron and bits of foil. But I found no silver, gold or jewelry of any kind. It doesn't seem the users of San Clemente beach lose any jewelry at the beach.

Given the corrosion on some of the finds it doesn't seem that the beach is over hunted by MD.

Clad found included 9 quarters, 9 dimes, 8 nickels and 23 pennies.
It has been my experience that when the ACE 250 identifies a dime at great depth and I am digging at 12 inches, the find turns out to be a buried beer can. But just to be aggravating, today 4 times it was a dime at 12 inches and only one time it was a beer can. Looks like I will keep digging every one of the indicated deep dimes.

Sometimes when I remind my wife that we are now treasure hunters she comes back with, "Where's the beef?". Today I have an answer. I found a cow on the beach.

I took a picture and dropped it on a background to make it a little more interesting. It's really a friendly looking cow. I don't think I can stand to turn it into hamburger.

At least now my wife understands that treasure hunting is serious business!

It was another beautify day at the beach. The clouds were very dramatic today as was the lighting. Of course I forgot to take my camera.
Time to get along little doggies - happy hunting to all

That is a good haul John. Love the cow. My chihuahua thinks cows are his arch nemesis, he barks at all cows on tv. I decided to take him in our jeep out into the pasture to see some real live cows, well he went nutzo.

You are always finding something cool. Now a cow. Where did you set him to take the picture? Looks like a great place to detect right there.

The background is a house by the railroad station in San Clemente. It was moved there from somewhere else. It is a setup for the tourists. Although, if it ever rains here again (3.11 inches in 18 months) I might try to look around. I have to be careful - a lot of the good places are considered historical preserves.
