its a 1943 UK half penny. Worth a buck in VF cond.

Yea it's one of our pre-decimal coins, george vi half penny.

Default Neat find!

Especially considering the date, the two countries involved and the war. Might be an interesting story there.
For coin identification this is the best:

On the left is a tab for world coins. Then on that page the world coin gallery is the best.
Your coin is, "English half-penny 1937-1948" also know as KM-844.
I really like that find, given the possibilities.
