Default Still Lookin' for Gold!

Peg and I are still in the Oxnard / Ventura area and I'm racking up clad - but little else. I did find a small toe ring (gold plate over silver) two days ago...but all attempts at locating the gold from Pris' map dowsing have failed...sorry Pris - I checked, checked and triple checked around and between the 11th and 12th palm trees on both sides of the walkway - and came up empty.

I did manage to find my first foreign coin - it's a 10 franc French Polynesian coin - pretty cool...although I'm way behind John down in Laguna Hills!

I'll post pics of anything I think is a cool find when we get back to Denver this weekend...Happy Hunting to everyone!

Shawn

Congratulations on the ring. Nothing wrong with the clad and I bet the French coin was a surprise.

Sounds like a good day! I love racking up the clad. I have found enough to buy another detector. I bought my seasonal beach pass with the clad I found. It amazes me that there is so much money out there. Congrats on your finds! HH!

If you get tired of the beaches. Find some of the older homes in that area, especially off the beaten path and ask if you can do their lawn. You will find a lot more older coins and you can find these places by talking to friends/coworkers. You are doing great so far. JC

Good job, EPC Guy! I bet those areas where all those people were gathered this past weekend would be a pretty good place to scan, too.

Can't wait to see the photos.

Hey JC, most of the homes are in gated communities to keep riff raff like myself out. Older communities don't really exist or are in a part of town you don't want to be found.

Oxnard has a bunch of farmland and I would bet they're pretty close minded to people wanting to dig around. CA is a different planet.
